The Villain's Sister - Chapter 88
One hour before the incident broke out.
Raphael was sprawled on the cell floor, cooling his head.
Compared to the detention center, which was easier to escape from, Raphael was a notorious villain, so as soon as his body recovered, he was moved to a special cell in the underground police station.
But being in a special cell didn’t mean there was no chance to escape.
“I don’t think I can go on living like this. And I don’t want to live like this.”
Giselle’s confession held him back.
He had already sunk into the darkest part of the world, but now it felt like he was being dragged into an even deeper abyss.
‘Uncharacteristically sentimental.’
Normally he would have brushed off words like that, but this time was different.
Seeing Giselle lying unconscious after being attacked by Big Bear, for the first time, he regretted.
‘If I had listened to you about running away to start over, would anything have changed?’
Sometimes Raphael imagined it.
A life where he hadn’t killed Andrew Moltke.
In that world, he had an ordinary job, and Giselle studied and worked like a woman in her twenties.
In a small two-room house, tax bills arrived, and they quarreled over whose turn it was to do housework.
It wasn’t glamorous, but it was quite romantic.
‘What a pointless fantasy.’
Andrew Moltke would have dragged them into hell one way or another.
Killing him was the most perfect decision he had ever made.
It turned his life upside down, but it was inevitable that life would flow this way.
Born with Andrew Moltke’s blood, it was fate to end up like this eventually.
Even so, he had done his best at every moment, so there might be regrets, but never remorse.
Step. Step.
From far down the hall, faint footsteps could be heard.
Raphael knew the sound well.
‘Later than expected.’
Raphael stood and stretched.
It was time to go home.
‘I said I’d turn myself in, but I never said I’d go quietly.’
Crack. Crack.
He twisted his neck and worked on the door hinges.
The police had taken all other belongings, but left his shoes.
Inside one heel, a screw was hidden.
“Hey. Raphael. Step away from the door!” shouted the officer guarding the cell.
But a figure approached silently from behind the guard and struck the back of his neck, knocking him out.
Thud, the fallen officer was kicked aside. Big Bear peered in through the small window in the cell door.
“As thanks to Maggie Giomatti for tightening security, I should at least deliver your head.”
“To dare show yourself before me.”
“You look good locked up like this.”
“Your judgment is poor. That’s why your gang is in that state.”
Big Bear scratched his temple with the barrel of his gun, grinning.
“You know? Giselle Moltke is in the police station right now.”
“You still don’t realize threats like that don’t work on me?”
“I heard her face was plastered all over the paper and she came here to file a lawsuit. I didn’t ask my informant for details to respect her privacy, but if you want, you can check yourself.”
When Raphael looked doubtful, Big Bear threw information he couldn’t ignore.
“Did you know your sister’s a rat?”
“……”
“She’s been leaking Death Adder secrets to the cops. If you knew and turned a blind eye, that’s some pathetic sibling loyalty.”
Bang!
Raphael kicked the door. The thick iron rattled but didn’t break.
Only he and Liam knew Giselle had been leaking Death Adder’s secrets.
“If you lay a finger on my sister, I’ll turn you into pig feed!”
“Then pay a price equal to her life.”
“You, you…”
“Who is White Hands? Just give me a name and I’ll find them.”
“…Joel O’Harman.”
“Do you think I’m an idiot? You’d have to swear on the Styx’s brew to know if it’s true or not.”
When Raphael banged his forehead against the iron door in anger, Big Bear chuckled with satisfaction.
“Styx’s brew… huh. Brew…”
As the words dragged out, Big Bear’s eyes gleamed.
Thud!
Unable to endure his irritation, Raphael slammed his head against the door again.
Then—
Crunch! Thud!
When Raphael pushed, the iron door collapsed onto Big Bear.
Pretending to confess about White Hands had been part of his act to escape.
“You bastard…!”
“How dare you, to my sister!”
Boom!
Raphael stomped on the fallen door, kicking down hard.
“You injected her with that kind of drug?”
Boom!
The pounding against the iron door echoed through the underground cells.
Empowering her body with her esper ability, Big Bear lifted the door and hurled it aside.
“The sin of having such a useless family!”
Bang!
The iron door crashed into another cell.
Breathing heavily, Big Bear clenched her fist inside her brass knuckles.
Whish!
Every swing of her fist cut through the air.
As Raphael twisted his body to dodge the punches, he spotted Liam tearing open the cell door where the iron had struck.
“Liam! They say Giselle is at the police station! Go to her!”
“Will you be alright alone?”
“Damn it, who’s worrying about who!”
Crash!
Raphael lifted the iron door to block the incoming punch.
The door dented along the shape of the knuckles.
He ducked low, driving into Big Bear’s chest, and threw her against the wall.
The moment Big Bear’s body hit the wall, she kicked off with her legs and lunged at Raphael.
“Die, Raphael!”
The fist grazed Raphael’s cheek. A small drop of blood splattered through the air.
Raphael struck Big Bear with his elbow, and at the same time Big Bear’s fist slammed into Raphael’s side.
Bang!
A bullet passed through the narrow gap between Raphael and Big Bear’s faces and lodged in the wall opposite.
“Freeze.”
The first to arrive in the underground cells was Tristan.
Both villains froze.
The bullets made of moonstone couldn’t be blocked by Big Bear.
But even if they couldn’t resist moonstone, they still had the ability to take down cops.
Boom!
A short explosion erupted from the ventilation shaft, and flames spread across the ceiling.
In an instant, the hallway filled with black smoke.
“You—”
“Fire!”
“Explosion! We need to evacuate!”
“Tristan! Are you okay?”
Voices of colleagues rang from the corridor leading into the cells.
“Someone’s down here! Get them out!”
A kicked door clattered loudly as it flew away.
“Can you handle this alone?”
“Go up and call for backup quickly!”
“Hold on just a little. We’ll be right back.”
The colleagues hurriedly carried out the fallen guard.
Some remained to face off with them, but the smoke only grew thicker as time passed, offering little help.
“Cough! Cough!”
The more he breathed, the more his insides burned. The smoke made it impossible to open his eyes.
They had to settle things quickly and get out of the underground.
As black smoke brushed his face, his eyes closed reflexively, and in that instant he sensed movement nearby.
Bang—!
“Ugh!”
It was Big Bear’s voice.
“Tristan! I’ll chase her!”
A colleague ran after Big Bear.
Crackle—
The sprinklers belatedly activated.
Water sprayed everywhere, extinguishing the flames and clearing the smoke.
Bloodstains remained on the floor, but Big Bear was nowhere to be seen.
Before Tristan, who was biting his lips, Raphael raised his palms in surrender.
“Officer.”
His eyes swept up and down Tristan like he was grading meat, and Raphael smiled confidently like a usurper who had taken the throne.
He was so entertained by the situation that he felt like lunging at Tristan Lindbergh’s throat.
“Tristan Lindbergh. Or should I call you Black Pistols?”
Tristan realized everything was ruined.

Sunshine chuckled as he stroked my cheek.
I pulled my body back.
Thud, my back hit the cold wall.
“So you recognize me. Don’t worry. I have no intention of hurting you.”
Sunshine showed his open palms, but it didn’t reassure me at all.
The worn-off fingerprints on his hands told me how many drugs he had made.
“I don’t rough up women. My mother told me so. She said the world is like this because people don’t respect women. I don’t know what kind of logic that is, but it probably means don’t beat, don’t kill, something like that, right?”
“…What are you planning to do with me?”
“I told you, I won’t kill you. There’s no time either. When I heard you appeared at the police station, I rushed here, but Big Bear showed up too. If they find out I met you, they’ll get suspicious.”
“There’s no time.”
From the shadows came a distorted voice, and the shadow rose upward, forming a human shape.
I was so shocked at the sight that I gripped my shoe tightly.
With a black cloak draped over him, he looked like an evil spirit.
Though his hood was deep enough to hide his face, I instinctively felt that the black cloak was staring straight at me.
“Deva…”
He came toward me.
No footsteps sounded from the black cloak.
“Thanks to you, I had to live a dull life…”
The hood dangled low, brushing my cheek.
When the touch slid down to the nape of my neck, goosebumps rose.
“I gave everything for you. So you should give me everything too.”
My fingertips grew cold.
The stalker in the black cloak clasped hands with Sunshine, and Sunshine suddenly appeared in front of me.
What the hell is going on…
“Hey, Cloak. Didn’t you say there’s no time? Why waste mine? Go check outside, make sure Big Bear isn’t coming.”
“There’s a presence outside. I’ll go see.”
Pushing the Black Cloak out, leaving just the two of us, Sunshine crouched down to meet my eyes.
Like a man high on drugs, his gaze softened as he made a proposal.
“You. Want to run away from Mist Island with me?”
