“What? Gabriel did that to someone who hadn’t even matured yet? And to our child, a demon from the Demon Realm? Isn’t that enough to start a war?”

Seir’s words gained the agreement of the other demons, one by one.

“Hasn’t the celestial god disappeared some time ago? With no god protecting them, let’s just wipe out the angels while we’re at it,” Purson added.

As the atmosphere in the meeting room grew increasingly heated, Lilith spoke up, “No war.”

“Why, Lilith?” For the first time since the meeting began, Dantalion, the Lord of Dominion, spoke.

Lilith scoffed at Dantalion. Her gaze at him was colder than ice. “Because Bella didn’t want it. Bella said she would personally take revenge on Gabriel later.”

At Lilith’s words, the demons accepted the decision. One thing demons respected, above all else, was the right to personal revenge. With that, the heated atmosphere began to subside.

After thinking things over for a moment, Belial suddenly asked the other demons a question, “But why did Gabriel do that? Now, sure, Bella has caused plenty of trouble, so it makes sense for Gabriel to dislike her. But back then, she hadn’t done anything. Forty years old? What could a demon who had just learned to walk have done to deserve that?”

“Hey, you don’t know? It’s obviously because—”

Amon started to answer confidently, but then blinked and spoke in a dull voice, “Come to think of it, why?”

“Ha. This idiot. It’s because Bella is the Lord of Contracts. Have you all forgotten who held the power before Bella?” Purson clicked his tongue and answered Belial’s question.

“Oh, Uriel? But why did that angel matter?”

As soon as Uriel’s name left Amon’s mouth, Dantalion clenched his fist tightly.

Only Lilith noticed this change.

“You don’t know even at your age? Listen up, idiot.”

Purson began explaining to Amon.

“Gabriel and Uriel were lovers. Then one day, Uriel vanished. Remember how desperately Gabriel searched for Uriel at that time?”

“I think I remember a bit. Didn’t Gabriel search the Demon Realm like he was hunting rats?”

“Exactly. And then one day, Bella appeared—the new Lord of Contracts. What does that mean?”

“What does it mean?”

“Ugh. Does that brain of yours have nothing but muscles? For a new holder of power to be born, the previous one must die. What do you think Bella represented to Gabriel?”

“Ah. I see now.”

Amon finally understood Purson’s explanation and nodded.

“Bella’s existence signified Uriel’s death—ah! So that’s why Lilith said that to Gabriel back then, that killing Bella wouldn’t bring Uriel back.”

“You only understand that now?”

Lilith gave Amon a look of disdain.

Unbothered by it, Amon continued, “Wait a moment. But even so, why would Gabriel try to kill Bella? Killing Bella won’t bring Uriel back.”

“Since when were we rational beings?”

The answer came from Lilith, though her gaze was fixed on Dantalion.

‘Pathetic.’

Lilith mouthed the word silently to Dantalion, whose expression turned cold and harsh upon reading her lips.

Ignoring him, Lilith turned to the other demons. “Let’s move on to the next topic. The second agenda is—”

Lilith paused for a beat, then smiled. “A declaration of war on the middle realm. The goal is the end of humanity.”

So, what do you think? Let’s hear everyone’s opinions.

After Lilith’s words, silence fell over the meeting room.

“Uh, Lilith? Is there a specific reason we need to exterminate humans?”

The one who broke the silence was Belial. He seemed reluctant about the idea of humanity’s extinction, his expression uneasy.

Once the silence was broken, the other demons began to voice their opinions one by one.

“Do we really need to make them extinct?”

“Leaving them alone isn’t so bad. They can be quite entertaining in their own way.”

Most of the demons gathered here were not particularly hostile towards humans. In fact, they found them amusing, or at least interesting as a form of entertainment.

Of course, not all demons felt that way.

“Wiping them out wouldn’t be a bad idea.”

Dantalion’s voice echoed through the meeting room.

“We all know the relationship between the middle realm and the celestial realm. Those who serve the celestial god must pay the price.”

“Humans have brains and survival instincts. Of course they side with the angels. Honestly, I don’t understand demon worshippers.”

Seir immediately opposed Dantalion’s opinion. In his eyes, Dantalion was simply nitpicking because he disliked humans.

Benevolent celestial gods and angels, versus demons who viewed humans merely as a source of amusement—if Seir were human, it would be obvious which side he would choose.

Seir didn’t particularly like humans, but he could understand why they served the celestial gods.

As for demon worshippers—honestly, Seir thought they were just foolish humans lacking in some way. Unlike contractors, who gained something in return for their contracts, demon worshippers were just one-sidedly devoted. Their fanaticism often baffled Seir.

…Come to think of it, demon worshippers had been quiet for the past few hundred years. Seir briefly wondered about this but dismissed the thought, as he wasn’t too interested in the affairs of the middle realm.

“Lilith. So what’s the reason? You must have a reason for making this decision.”

Purson questioned Lilith. He believed that, despite Lilith’s inherently ruthless nature, she wouldn’t decide to eliminate the middle realm without cause.

As Purson expected, there was a reason behind Lilith’s decision.

“The seal on the Demon God is weakening. In as little as ten years, or a hundred at most, the seal will be completely broken.”

As soon as Lilith finished speaking, sighs echoed throughout the meeting room.

If ordinary children learned that the seal on their father was weakening, they would likely be pleased—but there were no ordinary children in this room.

All those present were demons, who considered parricide a basic skill.

In the Demon Realm, a world governed by survival of the fittest, none of the demons in the meeting room welcomed the return of a being stronger than themselves, like the demon god.

Seir looked around the meeting room, observing the expressions of the other demons. Once he confirmed that everyone looked similar, he spoke, “It seems like we’re all thinking the same thing, so I’ll just say it. Lilith, is there no way to seal Father again? Preferably forever.”

“Right. Let’s think about this from Father’s perspective. Eternal life—it must be tedious and boring. Eternal rest is better than eternal life. So, for Father’s sake, let’s extend the seal. Preferably forever.”

Purson agreed enthusiastically with Seir’s suggestion.

“Do you really think it’s possible to seal the demon god again? He’ll be extremely cautious. The last time was a fluke.”

Lilith flatly declared that resealing the demon god was impossible.

Most of the demons present believed that it was Lilith who had sealed the demon god the first time. So they accepted her words without further argument. However, only Dantalion, who knew the truth, shot a glare at Lilith.

Purson asked Lilith another question, “So, what’s the connection between the demon god’s seal weakening and wiping out humanity?”

“Think about the anger the demon god will unleash on us once freed. One of his long-standing desires was the destruction of the middle realm. If we accomplish it first, maybe he’ll be less angry.”

“So, you’re saying we should destroy humanity to placate the demon god’s fury.” Purson, after briefly organizing Lilith’s words in his head, spoke again.

The demons in the meeting room began exchanging glances. They seemed to be contemplating whether to agree with Lilith’s opinion or not.

“Let’s take a vote, then.”

At Lilith’s suggestion, the demons began to express their opinions one by one.

“I’m against it. Honestly, I don’t think destroying humanity will do much to calm Father’s anger. Instead of pointless actions, let’s just brace ourselves for what’s coming.”

“I’m for it. We have to try something, right? We all know that when Father gets angry, he can wipe us out in an instant.”

The demons took turns voicing their stance. When it came to Annette, the Lord of Dreams, the flow of responses suddenly stopped.

Annette was just staring blankly ahead. Seir, sitting next to her, examined her closely before coming to a conclusion.

“She’s sleeping with her eyes open.”

Now that he thought about it, Annette hadn’t said a word since the meeting started—likely because she had been asleep the entire time.

Lilith gestured for Seir to wake Annette.

At Lilith’s command, Seir stood up and pointed the axe he always carried at Annette’s neck.
