Seir quickly took his assigned seat. Noticing that the seat next to Lilith was empty, he tilted his head in confusion.

“That’s Bella’s seat…”

“Bella’s on an errand for me. She’ll be absent for the next few months.”

At Lilith’s words, the demons gathered in the meeting room began to murmur amongst themselves.

“Ah, seriously? The youngest isn’t coming? I was looking forward to seeing her after so long.”

In particular, Belial, the Lord of Lust, showed a strong reaction.

“Bella rarely shows herself except on meeting days.”

“That’s because Bella is smart. She doesn’t want to breathe the same air as a disgusting bastard like you. It’s a very wise choice.”

As Belial grumbled, Purson, the Lord of Lies, frowned and retorted.

What Bella didn’t know was that most of the Demon Lords held a favorable opinion of her.

Demons, by nature, didn’t feel a sense of camaraderie with each other just because they were of the same species. Unless their own benefit was at stake, they avoided interacting with other demons.

However, Bella was an exception to the Lords.

Perhaps it was because Bella, by the Lords’ standards, was like a newly born demon—still very young. Demons had always been exceptionally lenient towards the young.

Moreover, Bella was the first new Lord born in almost ten thousand years. It was only natural for the other Lords to be fond of her.

Even more so because Bella’s antics were always so unusual that she provided constant entertainment to the Lords, who had grown numb to most things after living for tens of thousands of years.

“That peculiar way of speaking, I’ve grown fond of it. If she reverts to her original way of talking, I’ll miss it.”

At Amon, the Lord of Wrath’s words, Seir raised a question. “Original? Are you saying Bella didn’t always talk like that?”

“She didn’t when she was younger. It changed after she went to the middle realm once.”

Ah. Now that he thought about it, Seir vaguely remembered that being the case. He nodded in agreement.

Lilith, wanting to bring order to the room and begin the meeting in earnest, spoke up, “Alright. The first item on today’s agenda: Belial’s execution.”

“What?!”

Belial was immediately outraged at Lilith’s words.

“What did I do wrong?!”

In response, Lilith snapped her fingers, and parchment began to rain down from the air.

Seir grabbed one of the parchments and started reading its contents aloud. “The Lord of Lust, Belial, approached me, whispered sweet nothings, and seduced me. However, after spending one night together, his attitude changed. Therefore, I petition for his execution.”

All of the parchments were petitions requesting Belial’s execution. Everyone looked at Belial with expressions full of disdain.

“What am I supposed to do about possessing the power of lust?”

Belial protested, feeling wronged. It was true that, befitting his power, his sexual desires were stronger than those of other demons—

“Hey, Belial. It’s fine for demons to live according to their instincts, but there’s a limit. You’ve accumulated so many petitions just because you can’t control what’s between your legs? How disgraceful.” Seir clicked his tongue at Belial’s pathetic display.

Belial quickly defended himself. “But I never touch demons under a hundred years old! And everything was consensual!”

“Just die. You’re not worth keeping alive.” Amon concluded succinctly after hearing Belial’s excuses.

The atmosphere in the meeting room gradually shifted in favor of executing Belial.

At that moment, Senevia, the Lord of Sloth, reacted.

-Objection.

Senevia had long since stopped speaking out of sheer laziness, instead using magic to write words in the air.

Purson asked Senevia why she was objecting, “Reason?”

-Power. Belial is a fool.

Senevia, too lazy to elaborate, kept her response extremely brief. As always, her words required interpretation.

The other Lords’ expressions grew colder at the nonsensical statement. They gave Senevia annoyed looks.

Purson, trying to prevent any bloodshed, explained Senevia’s words to the other Lords. “Senevia means that there’s no guarantee we’ll get another Lord of Lust as foolish as this one. As you all know, even if we execute Belial, another demon with the power of lust will be born anyway.”

At Purson’s words, the Lords all nodded in agreement.

If they executed Belial, it wouldn’t be long before another demon with the power of lust emerged from the fires of hell. This was true for all demons possessing powers.

“The previous Lord of Lust was a much smarter demon than Belial. Honestly, it was quite troublesome.”

No one knew what methods he used, but he even managed to reach out to the angels, causing the celestial god, who was still in power at the time, to become extremely angry.

Purson, reminiscing about those times, tried to persuade the demons in the meeting room. “At the very least, this fool can’t deceive the angels. Isn’t it better to keep Belial than risk having a cunning demon inherit the power of lust?”

Convinced by Purson’s argument, the other demons nodded in agreement.

And so, Belial’s execution was dismissed—albeit in a rather humiliating manner.

Belial, well aware of the reason his life was spared, suppressed his anger momentarily before raising his hand and shouting loudly, “Wait! I have an agenda too! What about executing Dantalion?”

At Belial’s words, all the other demons, except for him, stared at him with identical expressions.

‘What is this madman talking about?’

But Belial was undeterred and continued to present his case, “Isn’t the current Lord of Dominion insufferable? If we kill Dantalion, maybe the next Lord of Dominion will be more compliant.”

Honestly, Seir found himself tempted the moment he heard Belial’s words. It wasn’t exactly pleasant for him to keep seeing Dantalion’s annoying face.

The other Lords, too, seemed to agree that Dantalion was unpleasant, as they exchanged glances.

“I oppose.”

However, Lilith cast a dissenting vote. Given her usual relationship with Dantalion, her decision was surprising.

“Dantalion possesses the power of dominion. Even though I, too, would love to kill Dantalion… Dominion is a neutral power. Surely, you understand? We can’t risk having the power of dominion fall into the hands of the celestial realm.”

Powers were broadly classified into good, evil, and neutral. Powers like lust fell under evil, and their wielders were always reborn as demons.

Conversely, powers like healing, which belonged to good, were always inherited by angels.

However, in the case of neutral powers, the next wielder could be either a demon or an angel.

If they recklessly killed Dantalion, there was a risk that an angel with the power of dominion could be born in the celestial realm.

The demons gathered in the meeting room had no choice but to agree with Lilith’s reasoning.

With the first agenda item concluded, the demons took a moment to catch their breath.

“Still, without Bella, the meeting feels a bit dull, doesn’t it?”

At Seir’s remark, the demons began to nod in agreement.

“Lilith, can’t we send Bella to the celestial realm as a diplomatic envoy again?”

Amon, as if suddenly remembering something, asked Lilith.

A hundred years ago, Lilith had sent several Lords, including Bella, as a diplomatic envoy to the celestial realm to resolve a territorial dispute.

Thanks to Bella’s assured chaos, it nearly escalated into a war.

In truth, Lilith, who secretly hoped for a war, had deliberately sent Bella for that very purpose. Unfortunately, the angels’ patience turned out to be greater than Lilith had expected.

“I still remember the look on those annoying angels’ faces. The shock they had when Bella tried to gouge out Gabriel’s eyes—it’s still vivid.”

Purson, who had accompanied Bella as part of the envoy, chuckled as he spoke.

Gabriel had reacted swiftly, and Bella’s attempt ultimately ended in failure.

“Bella attacks Gabriel on sight. She’s not the kind of demon who can’t distinguish between heaven and earth.”

At Purson’s words, Amon spoke up angrily, “It’s entirely Gabriel’s fault. Ha. Do you know what he did the first time he saw Bella? He tried to kill her the moment they met!”

The demons, hearing this for the first time, exchanged glances. The only demon who showed no reaction was Lilith, who had witnessed the event firsthand.

Emboldened by the other demons’ silence, Amon spoke again, “Bella was only four years old then—”

“She was forty, not four. Amon, do you still have trouble with numbers?” Lilith, who had been quietly listening, chided him.

“What’s the difference between four and forty?” Amon grumbled.

It was a ridiculous statement, but not entirely wrong. From the perspective of the Lords, who enjoyed near-immortality unless killed, four or forty were both considered young.

Moreover, considering that Bella had only reached maturity after surpassing a hundred years…

The expressions of the demons began to turn cold.
