There was no time to indulge in sentiment.

Silia waved her hand in the air and soon began to mutter something in a small voice.

Then, an unknown energy began to gather around me.

At the same time, Daphne’s necklace hanging around my neck began to glow.

Nigel spoke to me urgently, “Bella, once you return to the past, come find me.”

“Hm? Why you?”

“…Come find me as soon as possible. I’ll help you. …You need someone to watch over you. And don’t cause any trouble. Got it?”

After saying that, Nigel patted my head. Though I was in spirit form, I could feel his touch, and I didn’t brush his hand away out of curiosity.

Nigel looked me straight in the eye and said, “This face suits you better, as expected. This mean-looking face fits your personality more.”

“What’s this? A compliment from you?”

“Ugh. Do you know how annoying you are?”

Despite his words, Nigel’s tone was playful.

He grinned widely at me.

That was the last sight I saw.

With a flash, Bella’s figure vanished.

Even though only Bella disappeared, Nigel felt the entire atmosphere of the village change.

This stillness.

After the Water God’s death, no more beastkin had been born. So at some point, a gloomy air began to settle over the village.

Now, the number of beastkin remaining in the village could be counted on two hands.

That’s why, six hundred years ago, when Uriel came to the village with a child in her womb, everyone welcomed her.

When Bella was born, everyone rejoiced as if it were their own child.

Nigel was no exception.

‘I thought she was a little sister I had to protect for life…’

Nigel recalled the many humiliations he had suffered from Bella.

Then shook his head.

A sister? No way. She’s an enemy, an enemy.

But she was an enemy who somehow made him feel affection even while being annoying.

Sigh. Thoughts of Bella once again tangled up Nigel’s insides.

It was ridiculous to consider a demon with power a younger sister to protect.

So, a friend. Nigel defined their relationship as friends.

Thinking of Bella who had now vanished, Nigel sighed again.

“Child, why such a reaction? Are you worried about Bella?”

“Yes. Going to the past isn’t an ordinary matter, so I’m worried.”

“You know better than anyone that there’s no need to worry, right? What is the future or present for the young demon is the past for you.”

Nigel recalled the past few hundred years. As she said, there was no great need to worry.

Though the process was rough, Bella ultimately achieved the goal she had when she returned to the past.

Wait a moment. Now that he thought about it…

‘The things Bella did in the past. Even though I clearly told her to come find me, that I’d help her. And not to cause trouble, yet she still acted like that?’

What should he call it? Nigel searched for the right word in his mind and, after several attempts, found the perfect term to describe Bella’s deeds.

Wreak havoc.

At every point she returned to the past, Bella wreaked havoc with utmost dedication.

Sigh.

What am I going to do with you, Bella?

Nigel’s sigh echoed once again. This time, it was a deep sigh as if the ground would collapse.

He wasn’t the only one with a heavy heart.

Silia let out a lament that was close to a monologue.

“In the end, all the prophecies I made have come true.”

It was always like that. There were countless times she wished her prophecies wouldn’t come true.

She would’ve rather been called a liar than see those prophecies fulfilled.

But in the end, every prophecy came true.

“Sometimes… I think like this. If only I hadn’t made that prophecy to the end back then. Maybe this tragedy wouldn’t have happened. Maybe Gabriel would still be compassionate and wise. Maybe Uriel would still be alive.”

She knew well that such speculation was meaningless.

Even so, she couldn’t help but think that way from time to time.

“Child. I will never make another prophecy again.”

That was both a statement to Nigel and a vow to herself.

Slap—!

I woke up with a start at the stinging sensation on my cheek.

I blinked and looked around.

It was an unfamiliar space.

A noble’s room. The luxurious tapestries and paintings hanging all over the room looked too expensive for even a wealthy commoner to afford.

It seemed to be midday, as sunlight streamed through the window and lit up the room. Moreover, the soft carpet on the floor warmly embraced my feet.

It was a room that felt cozy overall.

Unlike my current situation.

I rubbed my tingling cheek with one hand and thought.

How could I get slapped as soon as I arrived in the past?

The funny thing was, this whole situation didn’t feel unfamiliar.

‘The first time I entered Isabella Dunkeld’s body. The duke slapped my cheek.’

Still, what on earth was this?

I looked at the man standing in front of me. He was the one who had slapped my cheek.

At a glance, it was hard to tell how old he was. He looked like he could be in his thirties or forties.

Judging by his well-dressed attire, he was a noble.

His jet-black hair was neatly arranged, but I didn’t like the dullness in his eyes.

He seemed annoyed about something as he glared at me, huffing.

Apparently, I had possessed this body in the middle of a scolding from that man.

I ran toward the mirror. My reflection was both familiar and unfamiliar.

A face very similar to Isabella Dunkeld, yet not quite the same.

‘This body must also be one of Daphne’s descendants.’

I looked closely at the face in the mirror and pinched my cheek lightly.

Feeling pain confirmed that I had indeed entered this body.

I turned my head toward the man and asked, “Hey. What year is it now? No, how many years has it been since the Demon God was sealed?”

“What nonsense are you suddenly…”

“Answer.”

I approached the man and firmly grabbed both his arms to press him for a response.

“Ah! What is this—!”

As I applied more pressure, the man began to groan in pain.

“A hundred years! About a hundred years have passed!”

Hearing his answer, I let go of him.

The man clutched his shoulder as if it would break, swallowing curses.

Regardless, I fell into thought alone.

“Damn…”

I couldn’t speak further. The moment I opened my mouth, I felt like a string of curses that would shock even Gabby might come out.

I had heard Silia would send me to the past, but experiencing it firsthand felt completely different.

How should I describe this?

I didn’t expect to open my eyes in someone else’s body again.

So, right now, I’m… a seasoned professional?

Anyway.

I raised my hand toward the man. And then—

Slap—!

The harsh sound of flesh striking flesh rang out in the room.

This was payback for the earlier slap.

Isabella! What do you think you’re doing?!

I expected this kind of reaction.

But contrary to my expectation, the man’s eyes rolled back and he collapsed to the floor.

Ah, right.

Only then did I realize the difference between now and then.

Back then, all my power was sealed, but now…

I had regained all my power.

Although I was in a human shell, I possessed the full power of a demon.

So my slap would be enough to knock out a grown man.

Rather…

Just in case, I held one finger under the man’s nose. Feeling a faint breath at the tip of my finger, I was relieved he wasn’t dead.

Now, what should I do?

I looked around.

This Isabella’s room was very shabby compared to Isabella Dunkeld’s room.

I began opening all the drawers in the room.

Whenever something that looked expensive came out of a drawer, I stuffed it into a pouch.

Now that I had all the valuables…

I glanced at the man lying unconscious on the floor.

This Isabella’s father, or perhaps older brother.

Well, judging by how he slapped Isabella, it didn’t seem like their relationship was very good.

There was no need for me to bother with someone like that. If left alone, servants would come looking eventually.

Now that I had my power back, there was no reason to stay here.

So let’s run away for now.

Without hesitation, I opened the window and jumped out.
