My Husband Caught Me Having an Affair - Chapter 151
When I opened my eyes the next day, it was already midday.
The blackout curtains were still drawn in the bedroom, but even the light seeping through the gap made it obvious that it was no longer morning.
‘I can’t remember the last time I slept in this late…’
Nobles typically stayed up late attending banquets, so sleeping in until noon was common. Naturally, it wasn’t frowned upon.
But since I rarely went to such events, I’d developed a habit of keeping a proper routine. It had been so long since I’d slept in that my body felt oddly stiff.
‘…Well, it’s not just because I slept late.’
Just thinking about last night—like a storm—made my face heat up again. Ethan’s presence still lingered vividly all over my body.
I sat up in bed and rang the handbell. I meant to ask Marie to bring me some water first.
But the one who opened the bedroom door wasn’t Marie.
“You’re up?”
Ethan approached me in just pants and a shirt and kissed me. I instinctively closed my eyes at the touch of his lips, then blinked wide and looked up at him.
“…Ethan? What are you doing here?”
“What do you mean? We fell asleep together in this bed last night. Don’t tell me you forgot already.”
Forgot? Even if I wanted to, there was no way I could.
“No, that’s not it… Didn’t you go back to your room?”
“As you can see, I’m still here. You hadn’t woken up yet. Wouldn’t you be sad if you woke up and I wasn’t beside you?”
“Well, I just thought you woke up first and left. I know how busy you are…”
“It’s fine. I canceled my entire schedule for today.”
Ethan said it so casually that it took a moment for the words to register in my head.
“…You canceled? All of it? Why?”
“Because I wanted to spend the day with you.”
As he spoke, he kissed my cheek.
“Wait, but… Kya! What—what are you doing?!”
Startled, I smacked his chest. He had moved from my cheek and gently nibbled my earlobe.
“Isn’t it obvious?”
Ethan murmured and began trailing kisses down my neck. Every time his lips touched my skin, I couldn’t help but flinch.
Naturally, he pulled down the blanket I had drawn up to my chest. My bare body was revealed before his eyes.
“E-Ethan! Are you crazy? Do you know what time it is?!”
At my words, Ethan reached down as if he had been waiting and took out his pocket watch from his waistband.
“Let’s see… 12:37. Looks like the watch you gave me keeps excellent time.”
“What? Well, that’s good, but… Ah, anyway! What are you doing in broad daylight?!”
“It’s not all that bright. But if you prefer doing it with the curtains open, I could certainly pull them back.”
“Excuse me?!”
I stared at Ethan in shock. He chuckled and pushed me down onto the bed. He grabbed both my wrists and pressed his body against mine, making it impossible to move.
“…After going all night yesterday, are you seriously trying to do it again the moment I wake up? You can’t be serious. This is a joke, right?”
“I’m completely serious. You can feel that too, can’t you?”
Only then did I realize the evidence of his ‘seriousness’ pressing against me.
I murmured blankly, stunned, “Oh my god… This is insane. How can a person even…”
“You make it sound like I’m doing something terrible.”
Ethan replied with a somewhat exasperated expression.
“For your information, I restrained myself until you woke up. You were just too beautiful and defenseless as you slept. I had to fight the urge to touch you. Isn’t that admirable?”
“What? I… uh… I guess?”
I was so flustered I didn’t even know how to respond.
Ethan kissed my cheek again and whispered softly, “Then shouldn’t you reward your admirable husband?”
“What? Reward? What are you—”
I didn’t finish my sentence. Ethan had pulled the blanket away from my lower body and moved down.
I gasped and tilted my head back.
And what followed was a repeat of last night.
In the end, we didn’t leave the bedroom until nearly sunset that day.
And that was only because I begged, saying I was starving and needed to eat.
Even though we’d eaten once already in the bedroom after waking up, I was already hungry again. Given the calories we’d burned yesterday and today, it wasn’t surprising.
‘If this keeps happening every day, I’ll wither away in no time… Surely he doesn’t mean to do it every day, right?’
I glanced sideways at Ethan walking beside me. Completely oblivious to my worries, he looked thoroughly satisfied.
Realizing I was watching him a beat later, he pulled me tightly by the waist.
“What is it?”
“Huh? Oh, nothing…”
Before I could finish, Ethan kissed me.
“Ethan! We’re in the hallway!”
“So what?”
I furrowed my brows and glared at him. He didn’t look the least bit embarrassed, only smiled charmingly back at me.
It was the kind of gaze one gives something precious and dear.
“…Seriously.”
I sighed softly.
I thought I knew everything about Ethan, but I never imagined this side of him existed.
To think he could be so passionate and affectionate as a lover.
‘And so vigorous, too… How could a man like this leave his wife untouched for so long?’
The more I thought about it, the more baffling it became.

“Young Master.”
Thierry Girard looked up at the head butler. There was a trace of irritation in Thierry’s eyes, and the butler stiffened slightly.
“What did you just call me?”
“Pardon? Ah—My apologies, Master.”
The butler quickly corrected himself.
Yes. The master of House Girard was no longer his father, but himself. To establish that fact firmly, Thierry had begun by replacing the entire household staff.
The man before him was the new butler. The previous one, Patrick, would never have made such a mistake. He had flawlessly catered to the whims of Thierry’s difficult father, which was why he had held his post for over forty years.
But for that very reason, Thierry couldn’t allow him to stay.
“Don’t let it happen again.”
Thierry returned his gaze to the documents. They had been prepared for the imminent trial.
“Yes, sir. My apologies.”
The new butler bowed hastily.
“So?”
Thierry asked without looking up.
“Ah, yes. Someone is here asking to see you.”
Thierry paused.
It was well past ten o’clock. And there had been no prior appointment. No one should be visiting at this hour.
Normally, he would’ve dismissed them without even asking their name. But given the current situation, a secret visit held potential significance.
“He gave his name as Nicolas Sadun. He says he’s from the intelligence division.”
It was a name Thierry had never heard before—meaning he wasn’t a high-ranking agent.
The Girard intelligence network had completely collapsed. Most senior agents had vanished the night Dumont’s forces invaded.
Those who remained had either been unusually loyal or unlucky enough to be captured. All were now being held and interrogated in the Imperial prison. The same went for the lower-level agents.
That this Nicolas had chosen to come forward now likely meant he was trying to avoid imperial surveillance. Perhaps he had something important to share.
“Let him in.”
“Yes, Master.”
Soon, a young man entered. He had fine features and looked a few years younger than Thierry.
Nicolas bowed. “Young Duke.”
“You claim to be from the intelligence division. Can you prove it?”
“…No.”
“Then why should I believe you?”
Thierry asked with his fingers laced. Nicolas looked at him silently for a moment, then pulled something from his coat.
“You can decide after reading this.”
In his hand was a letter.
“What’s that?”
“A handwritten letter sent to me by the Duchess of Dumont.”
Thierry narrowed his eyes at the reply.
GreatGamma
Oh, a “proof” ?
